Bangkok Baptist Church Humble Beginning
"A Ministry Bound in God’s Love and Mercy"
A Surrendered Life
In December 2000, Bangkok Baptist Mission began its journey when Pastor Enrile Badua, his wife Evelyn, and their three children—then members of Pines Baptist Mission Church in Baguio, Philippines—relocated to Thailand with a calling to minister to those yet unreached souls.
Partnership
Alongside them were Pastor Aaron Inventor, his wife Icy, and their two children. Though Pastor Aaron and his family were initially called to serve in Laos, they first resided in Thailand to study the Thai language. Motivated by a deep compassion for souls and a desire to communicate meaningfully, both families committed themselves to outreach among anyone they could connect with.
Mission Work Established
Together with their families, Pastor Badua and Pastor Inventor, continued to reached out. They distributed printed invitations, reached out personally to acquaintances, and extended heartfelt invitations to attend in the church. These early acts of service and invitation—simple yet intentional—formed the foundation of Bangkok Baptist Mission.
The First Congregational Gathering
The very first meeting of the church was held on January 14, 2001 at Pinnacle Hotel. At that initial gathering, three men were present—of those, two began attending regularly and as time went on, attendance increased. This hotel became the location of every gathering for 18 months.
Addition, Growth, and Involvement
New believers made professions of faith, baptisms took place, and infants were dedicated. Others joined by transferring their church membership. Many new ministries were started: Children's ministry, Junior Worship, and a nursery for infants. Men were trained to teach new converts in Sunday school. Some members also worked with Pastor Badua translating the Word of God into Thai for Thai converts and visitors.
Another Partner Added
Pastor Emmanuel Sinoy and his wife, Aivie—another missionary preparing for service in Myanmar—stayed in Bangkok temporarily for language study. They were a blessing to the church, aiding in the ministries that has been started.
The First Anniversary
On January 13, 2002 , marked our first anniversary. Pastor Terry Wiese (Head Pastor of the sending church – Pines Baptist Church) was invited to preach, challenging hearts and inspiring faith. That day, many visitors professed.
The Journey Continues
All this has been possible because the church's foundation is Christ Himself. While people come and go, programs rise and change, our call remains the same—to be a house built on the rock, unmoved by storms, grounded in faith, love, and obedience to God. In the days that followed, the church faced important decisions around several ministries—music, discipleship, children's work, and outreach to Thai speakers.
Pastor Badua and Pastor Inventor, together with the elders, began to designate special Sundays. On those days, members and attendees were encouraged to invite friends and family to the service so that more people might hear the gospel and receive salvation. Growth followed hereafter.
The Lord has indeed proven Himself faithful to His Word. Great is the measure of our Father's love. He has given us infinite power — power to touch each other's lives, to unite under His mercy, to reflect His compassion, and to continue to reach out. In His love, we are called to serve, to hope, to build — confident that what He has begun, He will complete!
